Hi and welcome!!!
I’m Thalia. I’m a high school teacher and a mommy, living in a very small Greek island. I’m pretty sure that you’ve heard before how beautiful Greek islands are. The one that I live in, is no different.
I’ve got a small baby, my sweet Alexandros, and because of him I’m on maternity leave at the moment. Therefore, I can finally spare some time to start this blog. At least when this little guy is sleeping.
It’s been a few years that I’ve been thinking of doing this in order to share the joy of creativy with other people. I wanted to do this since 2008, during my first year as a high school teacher. See, I was trying to find ways to occupy myself during my limited free time during winter. And that’s when I decided to learn my first jewelry creation techniques.
However, my desire to create crafts started way before that. My first introduction to crafts was at the age of 9 when I saw fimo (polymer clay) in a shop during summer vacations and it completely changed my life. I got so excited that started experimenting with it for my entire summer vacations.
It was simply amazing!
First things that I bought -among others, were small molds, pins, paints and varnishes and started my first jewelry production. I was so delighted that I made numerous copies of each type.
Few weeks later, I went to Corfu with my family -where my mother comes from, and I gave away all of the things that I created to friends and family. There was no bigger pleasure for me than seeing all my aunts wearing the gifts that I gave them. And that wasn’t the end. I started creating bracelets makrame with my own motifs, giving away everything the same day I was finishing something. What a summer!
Back to 2015. After university studies, few years of work and a lot of studying, I decided to start this blog and I couldn’t be happier!
My goal is to present you all the crafting techniques that I’ve been working on over the past years. We’re going to get the chance to create together, step by step, jewelries, decoratives for your home, your child’s room and office as well as a lot of different crafts with recycling materials.
I’ve got so much energy and desire to share with you my knowledge and experience. I’m very confident that we’ll have a great time crafting together! Let’s enjoy the ride!
